Environmental health and safety association CEO Sloan to depart

The $18M-revenue American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), the association for scientists and professionals committed to preserving and ensuring occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS), announced that CEO Lawrence Sloan will step down at year’s end, after 10 years at the helm. Vetted Solutions and the board selection committee have begun their search for his successor. 

“Over the past ten years, Larry Sloan has successfully guided AIHA through a period of significant growth, impact and change for the industrial hygiene and OEHS profession. Under his leadership, the association strengthened its mission, expanded its reach, and advanced key initiatives to protect worker health worldwide,” said AIHA board president, Bradley King.

Before leading AIHA, Sloan served as president and CEO of SOCMA (The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates, Inc.) for nearly seven years. He also led the Adhesive and Sealant Council as its president for five years.

The American Chemical Society (ACS) — Pamela Fisher will join the $819M-revenue ACS as senior vice president of inclusion and belonging. Most recently, Fisher served as chief inclusion and diversity officer at Bristol Myers Squibb.
